Although I admit to not being much of a baseball follower, I’ll make an occasional exception to my lack of enthusiastic fandom for one exclamation of “play ball!” And that’s the annual “Islands Night” Wednesday, May 7, as the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce takes over Lee Health Sports Complex in a night of fun, friends and fly balls!
Now celebrating 33 years, Islands Night is always special because it’s good times for a great cause — supporting island businesses and residents. This year, it’s the Dunedin Blue Jays taking on our Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, as the sun sets over the stadium and our barrier islands.
If you live here or plan to be visiting in early May, remember that tickets are free and available via the Chamber. Be sure to get yours — and we’ll see you at the ball park!
