With a Journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milissa has excelled in the communications and business industries: advertising sales, creative arts representative, commercial arts studio owner, Sanibel children’s clothing store owner and — for many years — Sanibel and Captiva Islands lifestyles photographer. 

Milissa has been a full-time resident of Sanibel Island since 2002, relocating to her childhood vacation destination from the Madison, Wisconsin area. Milissa and her spouse John have owned residences and commercial properties in Wisconsin, as well as residences and vacation rental properties on Sanibel and Captiva. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Sanibel Captiva Islands Association of Realtors® and is a member of the National Association of Realtors®, Royal Palm Coast Realtors Association,  is an Accredited Buyer's Representative, Vacation and Second Home Specialist as well as a Sanibel-Captiva Island Specialist. She and John have three children who all grew up on Sanibel. She and her family appeared on 60 Minutes following hurricane  Ian. Following  Ian her family chose to rebuild the home they lost.   Citing there is nowhere else they'd rather be.
